SOME  GOOD IDEAS ABOUT YOUR FUN TIME IN SICILY  NEAR VILLA GIOVANNA

Villa Giovanna is in Golfo di Castellammare, 250 m. from the sea. There, you can find a quiet beach, where the people stay  with the family.

You can go to  SCOPELLO 20 minutes from Villa Giovanna or to the  natural reserve of  “LO ZINGARO” where the sea is virgin and it is a real mediterranean place

SEGESTA is far away  20 Km (always in motorway), look the theatre, there in summer you can see many showes.

TRAPANI  is far away  50 Km (in motorway), THERE YOU CAN GO UP TO  ERICE.

There is a view of all the west Sicily, le islands  Egadi (Favignana, Levanzo e Marettimo), le saltworks, Mozia island and in the clear day you can see  Tunis. Erice is a charming and old town, famous in the past for the “temple of  Venus”.

From TRAPANI to  MARSALA you’ll see the suggest saltworks with the windmills. MOZIA island i san important archeologic place. In a museum of  MARSALA there is an interesting ship.

 From 40 Km to  Alcamo you’ll see SELINUNTE, an important greek archeologic  place near the sea.

Naturally you’ll go to Palermo( to 50 km), our first sicilian  town,  with many palaces, churches, museums, to see and with the colours of his markets.

Near PALERMO is MONREALE , famous for the mosaics in the cathedral.

 It is easy if you want go to  CEFALÙ (150 Km in highway)or in  AGRIGENTO you can arrive in about 1h 30’.

If you want visit  CATANIA, VULCANO ETNA, TAORMINA and SIRACUSA is better you think to stay there one night

In the summer Alcamo organizes many  free shows, and also the other  near towns. In the summer you’ll go to see the town feasts, it is a good opportunity for swimming in the old sicilian folk.

In Alcamo there are therms of sulphur water.
